Fun Fact #3:
When the Constitution was signed, the United States population was 4 million and Philadelphia was the nation’s largest city with 40,000 inhabitants.
Today, the United States population is over 322 million and the largest city is New York City with over 8 million inhabitants (more than double the amount of the total population at the time of the Constitution’s signing!).
“The strength of the Constitution lies entirely in the determination of each citizen to defend it. Only if every single citizen feels duty bound to do his share in this defense are the constitutional rights secure.”
