Constitution Week – Day Seven

We hope you’ve enjoyed all of the fun facts and quotes this past week. May we never forget the blessings we’ve been given in this country!

As a finale to the week, we’ll be posting our group post on the Constitution either later this evening or tomorrow.

Without further delay, here is our final quote and fun fact!

Fun Fact #7:

Governor Morris, a delegate from Pennsylvania is usually credited as the ‘Penman of the Constitution.’ However, it was actually a man named Jacob Shallus – assistant clerk of the Pennsylvania State Assembly – who penned most of the document.

Quote #7:

“While a constitution may set forth rights and liberties, only the citizens can maintain and guarantee those freedoms. Active and informed citizenship is not just a right; it is a duty.”

-Ronald Reagan
