There is hope for liberty!  While our culture and the predominant educational system in our country – public school – are busily purging the last vestiges of freedom from the present conversation, there is a small group of young people swimming against the tide.  The fine staff at Young Patriots for Liberty (YPL) have not only understood and embraced the concepts of liberty, but they know that liberty once again must reign in our land.  YPL is reviving what was once a common thought in the United States – Americans must know what liberty is, from whom it is granted, and how we are to carefully handle, guard, and keep it.  Make no mistake; these are not ordinary young people, nor do they only write for other young people.  It would be valuable and encouraging for ALL to read the writings of, and engage with, this inspiring group of God-fearing, liberty-loving young people.  YPL has inspired me and I commend them to you!

When I first heard of Young Patriots for Liberty, I wasn’t sure how they were any more special than the large variety of other “liberty” groups in existence. But when I looked into YPL, to my great pleasure I found an organization run by a group of young patriots who not only cherish the freedoms that our Founding Fathers enshrined in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution but also love and obey the God who blessed us with those rights! I fully expect and encourage YPL to continue leading the charge for liberty in the coming years!

“A primary object…should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a republic, what species of knowledge can be equally important?  And what duty more pressing…than communicating it to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of the country?”  ~George Washington

Although more than 200 years old, this quotation embodies one of the primary principles Young Patriots for Liberty (YPL) has impressed upon me through their articles and website. They are encouraging youth across America to become more involved in our country and to protect its heritage.  YPL is a trustworthy site founded on principles in the Word of God.  With a wide variety of resources and topics, it covers subjects from Biographies and the Constitution to Abortion and Healthcare.  Bringing back the long-forgotten precepts set by the Founding Fathers ages ago, the testimony of these young men and women gives me hope for the future of America.

YPL has stirred up the passion within me to become more involved in bringing back the original morals and waning liberties of our country.  I’m sure they are doing the same in the hearts of youth throughout America.  I look forward to what YPL has in store as they continue to inspire young Patriots around this great republic of ours!

As America becomes increasingly hostile towards conservative and Christian values, it is refreshing to know that there are still millennials who believe in the principles that made our country the greatest on earth.  “Young Patriots For Liberty” is an excellent place to become more knowledgeable and inspired in the continuous fight to preserve freedom and promote Christ in America.  They are another shining light in an increasingly dark world.

“If a nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.” –Thomas Jefferson

We live in a nation ignorant of the basic rights that they have been given through our Constitution and which the government seems to wish to discard.  Our only defense is in knowing and defending our liberty.  It’s nice to know that a group of intelligent and knowledgeable young people are fighting to do away with our nations ignorance and showing, that together, we can fight for our freedom.  Keep up the good work.”

In 1788 Noah Webster said in his essay “On the Education of Youth in America”: “Every child in America should be acquainted with his own country.  He should read books that furnish him with ideas that will be useful to him in life and practice.  As soon as he opens his lips, he should rehearse the history of his own country; he should lisp the praise of liberty, and of those illustrious heroes and statesmen, who have wrought a revolution in her favor.”

Unfortunately, that is not happening.  Sixty-Five percent of students in the best colleges cannot pass a standard American History exam.  An astounding 77% of college seniors cannot identify James Madison as the “Father of the Constitution”, but almost 90% can correctly identify all the Kardashians.  Sad indeed.

However, we have reason for hope.  About a year ago I was introduced to an outstanding new organization (and website) of college age students that took it upon themselves to create an organization and website dedicated to learning more about the Founding Fathers, the documents they gave us, and the spiritual underpinning of our nation.  I have been so impressed with Young Patriots for Liberty (YPL) and their dedication to the Constitution and their willingness to carry on the torch of Liberty to the next generation.  They are providing a significant service.   The work of carrying on the torch of Liberty to the next generation cannot be understated.  Unless our history, values, and Christian traditions are carried forward, they will be lost forever.

Every college in America should have a chapter of this organization.
